Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization working in Cambodia since 2003 in supporting families to secure a safe and healthy future. We are seeking for qualified candidate to fill the position below.

Position: We Can Read and Write Project Coordinator
Responsible to: Education Program Manager
Purpose: The WCRW - PC for Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (SP) is responsible to the Education Program Manager. The PC will be a cooperative member of the education team who will independently coordinate the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation with the education team. Provide technical training to primary school teachers on literacy and numeracy skills and ensure that school teachers and literacy coach use literacy and numeracy toolkits and other learning toolkits for teaching properly.

Job Requirement :
  • Agree to and follow the mission statement of Samaritan’s Purse
  • Bachelor degree in Education or any related fields
  • Good Knowledge of computers, monitoring and evaluation
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Minimum two year experience in related to field work and project coordination
  • Good skill in networking, interpersonal, and research experience
  • Ability to drive motor or car is preferred
  • Be able to work in a team and monitor team members’ work
Job Duties :
  • Ensure that 70% of students with target schools are functionally literate.
  • Ensure that at least 65% of parents that believe it is important for their children to attend school
  • Ensure that at least 70% of classrooms stocked with grade appropriate curriculum/textbooks for the current school year.
  • Ensure that at least 80% of teachers who receive professional development training
  • Facilitate quarterly reflection meeting with school teachers and school support committee
  • Monthly follow up  literacy coaches and develop plan to help poor slow learner with them
  • Train parents and caregivers on the importance of education and parenting skills
  • Provide training on teaching methodology and literacy instruction skills to teachers.
  • Organized exposure learning trip for teachers
  • Facilitate parents and caregivers who have smart phone access to the educational apps
  • Trained SSC on their role and responsibility and support them to develop school development plan
  • Work with literacy coaches to organize training people including parents, librarians and teachers on literacy improvement techniques.
  • Sharing gospel to the community
  • Facilitate to conduct reading contest within target schools to promote reading habits of the students
  • Support school support committee to implement their school development plans
  • Ensure that all materials provided to schools being used effectively (tablets, TRAC, numeracy toolkits and other learning materials and report to PM weekly)
  • Submit cash request to finance office weekly
  • Keep track of the budget expense ensuring spending against the plan ( every expense must be recorded)
  • Breakdown project planning, budget, tracking monitoring sheet and submit to Program Manager
  • Prepare materials and lessons to train teacher on teaching methodology, classroom management, how to use toolkits for teaching and how use to EGRA tool.
  • Organize other trainings to improve teacher’s capacity on teaching methodology
  • Work with logistic officer to purchase materials for the project
  • Organize exposure learning trip for teachers
  • Work with PoE,DoE and DTMT to conduct school inspection in all target schools.
  • Meet with village leaders and school principals and maintain good communication with the groups
  • Write monthly, semi/annual stories and report about project impact as requested
  • Attend the monthly meeting with the target commune office
  • Assist the programme manager to coordinate the donor’s trip visitation
  • Provide variance explanations for over/underspending
  • Work with M&E team to conduct project baseline survey, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work closely with PoYES, teachers  training center and NGOs to provide capacity building to teachers
  • Attend the monthly meeting with the target school
  • Identify other model school in-outside province for learning access for target teachers.
  • Maintain good team communications and relationships so that the project can run well.
  • Assist the program manager to coordinate the donor’s trip
  • Active participant in training workshops as assigned by the program manager.
