Job Title : Temporary Research Assistant in Kratie

Introduction :

VSO is an international development organization that fights poverty through volunteers. A Researcher from Liverpool John Moores University will be working in collaboration with VSO to investigate public health in rural Cambodia.

Benefits: $250 per month

This post is a temporary full time or part time (to be discussed) for the months of October and November. The research assistant will be required to be flexible and be willing to travel to health centres and local communities with the researcher. In addition the assistant should have good personal skills, be able to communicate effectively with local communities with a friendly nature.

Job Requirement :
  • To be able to speak and write in English and Khmer
  • Good organizational and administration skills
  • Able to work in a team
  • A willingness to temporarily live and work in the relevant district
  • A willingness to work flexible hours to be agreed with the researcher
  • Be open, friendly and approachable
  • Able to contribute to project design and implementation
Job Duties :
  • To coordinate and assist the researcher with workshops, meetings, observations etc.
  • To translate reports and documents from Khmer to English
  • To coordinate workshops with health workers, community members and others involved in public health
  • To assist with training specifically around capturing media images such as photographs.
  • To support the researcher with local knowledge and building relationships in the community
