New Hope Cambodia, an NGO registered with the Cambodian Government, provides education, family support, and health care to impoverished children and their families in the Mondul 3 area of Siem Reap.

The health care program includes a day visit clinic, pharmacy, doctor, foreign volunteer health professionals, home visits, a support program for people with disabilities, family planning, and a soon to be implemented pro-active student health care program.

A senior Cambodian registered nurse is now sought. It is unlikely that applicants with less than ten years post qualification experience would be successful.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that the clinic is caring in a professional manner for the patients who come each day, to carry out the initial assessment of the daily patients, to ensure that the patient records and administration requirements are met, to support the doctor, to manage and co-ordinate the support staff and to translate conversations with patients from Khmer to English speaking health care volunteers.

This position offers the benefit of working hours from 7.00 a.m. to mid-day and 2.00 p.m. to 5,00 p.m. , Monday to Friday and not working on public holidays.

• Cambodian registered nurse with additional appropriate qualifications
• Clinic leadership experience
• Emergency Department experience an advantage

• Administrative experience in preparing and maintaining patient records
• Fluent written and spoken English and Khmer
• Experience in relationships with appropriate government bodies
• Community relationship experience

• Experience in co-ordination with other health professionals both internal and external health care and other organisations

• Co-ordinate the clinic activities including the support staff
• Ensure the professional, caring, high quality delivery of the clinic services
• Carry out the assessment of patients coming to the clinic each day
• Maintain all the patient records, statistics, and information for internal and external reports
• Make suggestions that will contribute to the improvement of the health of the Mondol 3 community
• Help develop and present health and hygiene education programs
• Assist in other tasks to support the ongoing health care activities
• Ensure adherence to child protection policies
• Interpret Khmer patient conversation to English speaking health care volunteers
