Introduction :

Cambodia Knits is a social enterprise working with marginalized communities near Phnom Penh. Our goal is to produce beautiful, high quality and unique hand knit products while providing fair and flexible employment opportunities.
CK is currently seeking to recruit an Operations Supervisor to lead the team from its head office in Phnom Penh. 

As the operations supervisor you will lead overseas all daily operations and production. You will report to the Managing Director, who will support you in your tasks, planning and goal setting.  

You will have the opportunity to receive regular coaching and mentoring on all issues relevant to your tasks and further skills development. Additionally, CK regularly engages international volunteers, who will be able to provide additional support. CK provides a fun, rewarding work environment and work towards a social as well as business goal.

Job Requirement :
  • This is a mid-entry position at a small organization requiring about 3-5 years working experience. However, we are more interested in finding a dynamic, self-motivated individual who is willing to learn on the job and grow with us. So even if you do not have experience in all the areas above, but feel you could be a part of our team, do not hesitate in applying. Salary range is $400-600 based on experience. Increases in salary based on performance.

The job requires:

  • A willingness to learn, develop professionally and apply new techniques and practices in line with organizational values
  • At least three to five years’ professional work experience, preferably but not necessarily with a social enterprise or business
  • A basic understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job Duties :
  • Leadership
    • Act as a role model for CK head office staff and producers
    • Lead staff according to CK’s Core Values
  • Operational planning and management
    • Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization
    • Ensure that the operation of the organization meets the expectations of its clients and Board and are in line with organizational values
    • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization
    • Oversee production and lead team on production planning
    • Draft policies and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies; review existing policies and recommend changes as appropriate (support from a skilled volunteer will be in place for this)
  • Program planning and management
    • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization's production and social programs
    • Monitor the day-to-day production and delivery of social programs
    • Oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects
  • Human resources planning and management
    • Determine staffing requirements for organizational management, production and program delivery
    • Oversee the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and practices including the development of job descriptions for all staff
    • Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations and reflective of CK’s Values
    • Recruit, interview and select staff as necessary
    • Implement a performance management process for all staff which includes monitoring the performance of staff on an on-going basis and conducting an annual performance review
    • Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance
    • Discipline staff when necessary using appropriate techniques; release staff when necessary using appropriate and legally defensible procedures
  • Community relations
    • Communicate with producers to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community
    • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups and partner organizations
