Project Description

GIZ is a federally owned enterprise and is supporting the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. The technical cooperation (TC) module of the Cambodian-German Social Health Protection Programme (SHPP) supports the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Cambodia in key strategic areas outlined in its new Health Strategic Plan 2016-2020. The main areas of interventions include Health System Financing, Health Service Delivery and Health System Financing. To improve the process of patient’s care, on the job coaching is necessary.  The Provincial Health Department (PHD) and Operational Districts (ODs) should establish an effective coaching system to provide coaching to health staff to improve the quality of their health services as well as their technical knowledge, but this remain very limited. To provide technical assistance and strengthening this coaching system of the PHD and ODs, GIZ-SHPP is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position of short-term local experts for a total duration of 6 months:

  • Two Midwife or Nurse Coaches: one is based in Kampot and another one is based in Kampong Thom province
Job Requirement :
  • Cambodian National
  • Degree in midwife or register nurse
  • At least 3-5 year working experience in clinical coaching, mentoring or similar job
  • Previous experience in the quality of care assessment level 1 and 2 or quality improvement related tasks is an advantage
  • Outstanding coordination, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
Job Duties :
  • Assist the medical doctor coach to work with the government counterparts (PHD, OD, RH, HC) to review and develop coaching curriculum and materials based on the existing guidelines and tools such as the national clinical practice guideline such as Complementary Package of Activity for RH, Minimum Package of Activity for Health Centre, Clinical Practical Guidelines, and Quality of Care Assessment Tools and Results
  • Provide technical assistance to PHD/OD team on coaching RH/HC based on the developed coaching curriculum and materials
  • Assist the medical doctor coach to work with RH/HC staff and managers to develop continuous quality improvement (CQI) plan based on existing quality management assessments resulting in measurably improved quality of health services
  • Develop joint planning and schedules with PHD/OD to provide coaching to RH/HC
  • Provide joint coaching to RH/HC according to the schedule in coordination with PHD/OD
  • Prepare regular progress reports on coaching activities and results
