Job Description :

The Development and Communications Team is a fast-paced, lively department focused on raising funds for CLA and communicating messages to all stakeholders. The Communications Coordinator is creative, dynamic, very organized and focuses on engaging our national and international audiences.

CLA has many different English-language and Khmer-language audiences including students, artists, Masters, audience members, supporters, sponsors and donors and based in Cambodia and overseas. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for producing both Khmer and English-language marketing content and press relations targeting these audiences. They create interesting content and produce collateral to keep these people engaged with our work, and also to attract new supporters. This content needs to be high-quality, attractive, accurate and up-to-date and meet our organizational and audiences’ needs. 

We are looking for someone creative, organized and quick to learn. The Communications Coordinator works closely with the Communications Supervisor, and will receive support and guidance to ensure quality materials are produced and consistent messages are relayed and adapted to their respective target audiences.

The Communications staff is not directly responsible for fundraising, but will work closely with the Development Coordinator to make sure marketing content supports our fundraising goals and shares the same organizational message. The Communications staff will also create materials for international donors in collaboration with the Development Coordinator.

Job Requirement :

Required

  • Previous experience in marketing, communications or events, with a good understanding of the principles of Communications
  • Good writing skills and the ability to adapt style, tone and message for different audiences
  • Excellent written and spoken Khmer
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Motivated, energetic and ambitious
  • Critical, creative thinking and problem solving skills

 Desirable

  • Competent with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Competent with databases and content management systems
  • Experience with copywriting, design and photography
  • Interest in Cambodian arts
Job Duties :
  • Marketing content production
    • Maintain a lively and engaging dual-language social media presence
    • Ensure the website is accurate and up-to-date
    • Create and send regular institutional e-newsletters
    • Coordinate production of marketing materials including print flyers, e-flyers, posters, brochures and invitations for different audiences
    • Coordinate production of photo and video content, sometimes working in partnership with local partners and contractors
    • Support production of annual report
    • Create presentations and speeches for ad-hoc local and international events
    • Ensure CLA’s logo and other brand materials are used appropriately
    • Ensure CLA’s partners are acknowledged appropriately
    • Keep up-to-date on local and international marketing trends
  •  Press relations
    • Coordinate with press across print, online and television, 
      maximizing positive coverage
    • Work closely with Programming Team to pitch exciting and regular stories to journalists
    • Secure feature articles and regular arts related articles
    • Develop strong, positive relations with journalists
  •  Events
    • Coordinate programming demonstration events at local universities and associations
    • Coordinate invitation lists and distribution for program, fundraising and other CLA events
    • Prepare signs and marketing materials for events
    • Ensure events receive social media and press coverage
    • Attend events where possible
  •  Website and databases
    • Develop and improve website and databases to make them user-friendly and effective
    • Maintain communications relevant records in database
    • Monitor google analytics and social media reporting platforms
    • Capture and analyze monthly communications data and prepare dashboard
    • Make recommendations to Senior Dev-Comms Manager on how best to respond to trends
  •  Reporting
    • Prepare reports for donors, government ministries and educational institutions
  • Managing contractors
    • Collaborate with freelance graphic designers and photographers
    • Maintain image library and photography credits
    • Manage contracts with translators, designers and other communications subcontractors

  • Starting salary: Between USD$270 to USD$450
