Louvain Coopération au Développement (LD) is a Non-Governmental organization officially recognized by the Belgian and European authorities for Development Cooperation which specializes in the support of health projects; food and economic security and access for health care. In Cambodia, LD is working in partnership with three local NGO partners including MODE, MoPoTsyo and TPO in three provinces of Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham and Tboung Khmum.

Currently, LD already has Health Technical Advisors who are working with our local partner TPO in Kampong Cham and Tboung Khmum. The main role of our Technical Advisors is to provide technical support to our local partner staff (Transcultural Psychosocial Organisation-TPO) and government counterparts and to contribute to capitalisation of our actions in the area of mental health. Therefore, LD is looking for a local volunteer to provide assistance to our Technical Advisors and also to provide support to the programme office staff in performing their tasks.

Essential qualifications

• Under graduate or post graduate degree in psychology or related field.

Essential work experiences/skills

• Some experiences in mental health or health programme development
• Understanding of basic statistics
• Experience in encoding data or data collection
• Ability to use computer (Ms. Word, Excel, Power Points or other Microsoft)
• Ability to communicate with other NGOs and others
• Patience, tolerance and flexibility
• Good in English speaking and writing

 Desirable work experience/skills

• Ability to use outlook, SPSS or other relevant software programme
• Awareness and sensitivity of cross-cultural settings
• Ability to speak French language is an asset

• Assist in data collection and analysis
• Encoding data
• Translation documents from English to Khmer and Vis-Versa and provide direct translation for the Technical Advisors
• Assist in training or workshop
• Assist in logistic or other administrative work
• Assist in reviewing social worker guideline
• Communicate and coordinate with government counterparts
• Writing report to programme office or Technical advisors
• Perform any other tasks required by the organisation

Period of assignment: From November 2015 until February 2016. It can be part or full time job depending on organisational needs and negotiation. For full time job, it requires for half time for field work and another half time for office work.
Benefit package: The local volunteer will receive an incentive to support its costs according to the situation (full or part time). It also will include a group personal health insurance and a support for accommodation during field visits.
